TWENTY FIRST BIRTHDAY

If it could be, 1 would give you the key
To enter the door this third of May.
Though it never was shut,
And through youth you did strut,
This door now closed on the third of May.

Instead, you've asked of me another key,
To open horizons which 1 cannot see,
To let you go and wander free
The world of God's love, Eternity.

So take the key sweet child of mine,
Enter with it true life sublime,
Open the door of God's Kingdom come,
Given to us with His only son.

Forgive me my grief, that 1 cannot share,
Your joyous reunion with God's heir,
Pray me strength along the way,
Until the day 1 meet you there.
